The Mikisew Cree First Nation (Mikisew) has lived on the ancestral lands of the Athabasca Delta and Wood Buffalo National Park in northeastern Alberta since time immemorial. The lives of our members are linked to the land and to a close understanding of traditions, history and a natural way of life. Many of our members live in the hamlet of Fort Chipewyan, and our traditional lands range over a large portion of Athabasca oil sands deposits.  Who You Are

Mikisew is currently seeking a dedicated and professional Property Manager. This position is accountable for overseeing the daily operations and management of residential and commercial properties, ensuring tenant satisfaction, and maintaining property standards. This position is located in Edmonton, AB.

 Roles & Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of property management, including tenant relations, maintenance, and financial management.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including building codes and safety standards.
  • Conduct regular property inspections to ensure maintenance and safety standards are met.
  •  Handle tenant inquiries, complaints, and requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Coordinate and supervise property maintenance and repairs, including routine and emergency work.
  • Manage lease agreements, including renewals, terminations, and enforcement of lease terms.
  • Prepare and manage property budgets, including rent collection, payment of expenses, and financial reporting.
  • Market properties to attract and retain tenants, including advertising and conducting property showings.
  • Attend management and staff meetings to report on property status and performance.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for effective property management.
  •  Maintain relationships with contractors, vendors, and service providers to ensure quality and cost-effective services.
  • Ensure timely and accurate record-keeping for all property management activities.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in property management or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Property Management, Real Estate, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications in property management or real estate (e.g., Certified Property Manager, Real Estate License) are an asset.
  • 3-5 years of experience in property management or a similar supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of property management software and tools.
  • Proven management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with contractors, vendors, and service providers.
  • Proficiency in property management software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills.
  • High level of confidentiality and professionalism.
